PostSun Apr 27, 2003 8:44 am    Poems (c'mon everyone, post your poems here!)

This is a nonsensical poem I wrote in the fourth grade, which has nothing to do with Star Trek at all.

The Crazy Old Man - Lieutenant Tech

On a summer's day,
In the month of May,
When the little children came out to play.

They laughed and shouted,
And they also doubted,
About the old crazy man who pouted.

He was a short man,
And jump high, he can,
But he can't, 'cuz he's an old man.

He was so very grumpy,
And he turned very crazy,
That he growled at the children like a grizzly.

The children he did scare,
But he didn't even care,
And he pelted them with his kitchenware.

The children started to run,
So he loaded up his gun,
But he chased them with an axe for fun.

"Boo-hoo," they cried,
Although the old man tried,
But he failed to get them fried.

Their mothers were angered,
And their hair were tangled,
And the poor old man was strangled.

This poem is about Alan Parrish's (or however you spell it) thoughts. If you didn't know yet, Alan Parrish is a character from Jumanji.

Disclaimer: I don't own Alan Parrish or Jumanji and I most certainly do not earn money from this poem.

Alan's Thoughts of Remorse - Lieutenant Tech

When I started this,
I wish I knew,
All I had to do,
Was memorize the clue.

Now I am doomed,
To spend eternity,
In this wreck of a place,
Called Jumanji.

I will never get,
Out of here,
Even with the help,
Of Jane and Peter.

They are good,
But I wish they won't,
Risk their lives,
Just to get me out.

They were almost killed,
So many times,
All because,
Of my no-good plans.

They shouldn't do this,
Just for me,
I don't deserve it,
This is where I should be.

I got myself,
Into this mess.
They shouldn't do this,
For their own sakes.

I must adapt,
To lifestyle here,
Because I am stranded,
Forever.

Nice poems! I love the old man poem: I've written many of those in my day too.

I wrote this poem right after watching the X-Files episode "4-D" (in which Doggett brings Reyes a "house-warming gift" of polish sausage fun things happen...). It's a Doggett/Reyes shipper poem b/c the polish sausage was on eof the original shipper moments between them. (Oh and polish sausage really IS really good. There's a stand outside of the Smithsonian Air and Space museum: great stuff).

Polish Sausage

A new home, a new beginning
But all alone with my joy.
Something, someone needs to be here
Be by my side.

The light in the doorway bends around
The familiar figure of a man well-loved
But from a distance.
Can he know?

Do I trust me? Or will we go too far?
Will we kiss like lovers?
Or embrace like old friends?
But whats this?

Brought you a housewarming gift.
In a paper lunch bag? Smells like hot dogs.
Polish sausage, best in the city!
Uh huh.

He hands me my gift
I freeze; what to do?
Looking into his eyes....
I see me; I see through

To a soul that is radiant and immutable,
One face in a sea of blurs
Perfect but for the slightest bit of sauce
At the corner of his lip...

Oooooo, that looks good.
Do I dare? Should I lick or use my finger?
I creep closer as he takes a huge bite.
And then, my finger reaches his mouth.

Im not sure which is tastier: the sausage or my love.

Hope you like!

Just found this one in my computer: I wrote it after a particularly bad boyfriend. ::grimace::

If I Could Say to You

If I could say to you
All the things on my mind
They would read like a book
With too many pages to be at all interesting
And yet scribbled words are all thats left;
My voice has been lost to the winds of pride

When we touch, sparks fly
When our eyes meet, my heart races
But you must not understand; for you do
Nothing
Nothing
Nothing but brush it off
Like a flea
Like a tick
Like a leech

Now youre under my skin,
But with every day you dont see Im alive
You push your stinger deeper and deeper.
First you destroy logic
Then reason
Then faith
Then memory
Until all is outside the bright circle of your light
There is only you for me now
And then you will move your spotlight
Shine it somewhere else
And while I
Like a moth to the light
Try to pursue you,
You will wander further away
Only returning months later
To taunt once again

I cannot escape from the circle;
I cant resist the game
But must we always play it?
Can we not simply give in?
Let the current sweep us away?
Maybe we dont trust it
Maybe we dont trust us
Maybe Ive read you all wrong;
Perhaps your just a friendly guy
But sir, why?

Great! I can honestly say I've never actually tried polish sausage. But frankfurters and matteson's smoked sausage are quite nice...

Anyway.... Great poems. I'm afraid I don't do poetry, just song parodies.

When the Night Sky takes Over ~ Caitlin C***** (me!!)

When the night sky takes over the beautiful bright
When the cold north wind blows and enchants the night
When the howl of a wolf gives all a fright
Thats when the sky takes over the night

doesnt rhyme and it isnt really about anything...i was just bored. its also where i got the stuff in my sig.

The earth trembled, sending ripples through storm wracked oceans. Clouds bellowed, filling the crimson sky. Fires leapt from the heavens, sending shadows into hiding, giving hope to those, shattered with despair. The stars danced to some unseen melody, as the sun sought the protection of the moon. Rivers turned to ice, hissing at the black showers descending from above. A medley of colors, burst's through the darkness. Streaming red's, blue's, and yellow's. A raven lets out a peircing cry, as if in protest. The winds scream and swirl, in compliance. Raging in an effort to shatter the pigmented light. The winds recede, leaving the raven to echo alone. In this celestial chaos.

here's some material i was working on for Diary

I need a love that
Makes my heart beat
Will let my soul fly
I need a love that
Will free me
I've been through the storm
I've been through the empty void
I've been through the rain
Now it's time to let my past go
Now it's time to get ready
For a love that
Will free my soul

Love is one thing
that will carry you through
love is one thing that
will help heal your pain,
love will lift you
from your sadness,
love will not leave you

what so you think? should I put these two together?

This is a poem i wrote earlier:

~*Darkened Days*~

Darkened days
Bring darkened nights
That bring the most horrific sights
A little girl cries a single tear
People scream in unspoken fear
Life is over, it is the end
We pray to god that he may send
A hero that will save us all
But until then we shall die and one by one fall

I like that Sones

and... yet again... me rambling on some more....

Tell me now, my warrior...
Can you hear the innocent cry?
Can you feel the angel near?
Do you wake at night,
In sweat stained sheets,
feeling your victim's pain?
Can you feel their fear?
Do you know what it is to suffer?
Can you hear their screams?
Do these memories haunt you?
Can you see the shattered dreams?
Do you know what it is to die?
To tremble on blood stained fields?
Would you know your time is near?
Tell me now, my warrior...
Tell me, let me hear.
