PostTue Apr 01, 2003 10:10 pm    DS9 SEASON 2 DVD!!!

Just picked it up earlier today at Best Buy. Got it for $99.99 again.

I'll post the brief rundown on special features in a day or two. Got to watch them if I ever get all this school work done. College is a hard endeavor!

Stay tuned!

Haven't gotten either set yet.

I think I'm going to wait and see if there's a discount for getting all 7 seasons at once later in the year.

^Yeah, I got 3 seasons of MASH for the price of one Trek. It's ridiculous.

Here we go:

The Section 31 Hidden Files:

1. Terry Farrall talks about her scene with Kira in the fighter in "The Siege". Says the two characters really complimented each other well.
2. "Invasive Procedures" is discussed.
3. "Shadowplay" is discussed, focus on set design of the village.
4. Mirror universe ep, "Crossover" is discussed.
5. Mike Okuda talks about props and displays.
6. Armin Shimmerman gives a great interview about Zek, and the man who played him. Very interesting.
7. Dave Livingston discusses different camera angles, and the new styles of acting for the mirror characters.
8. My favorite, Andy Robinson talks about Bashier and Garak in season two. Focus on "Cardassians" and "The Wire". Great stuff.
9. Terry Farrall talked about "Blood Oath" and working with Mike Anasara.
10. Mike Piller discusses the Prophets and the new ground broken by the show in season 2.

The DS9 season two scetchbook was very interesting, some interesting excerpts from some set designs and new props, characters, and ships.

Mike Westmore's aliens segment is very interesting. He talked about some of the new aliens for season two, also briefly about Dax and the Klingons from "Blood Oath".

New Frontiers was the main featurette about the second season. This is a must watch for any DS9 buff. Mike Piller and Ira Behr really made some intersting points that really got me to understand the beginnings of the show much more completely. A nice section on the character developments of season two, particulary Odo and Kira, were of interest.

The "New Station, New Ships" section was dissapointing. They only talked about the Runabout, Galor, and the station. Worst of the featuretts.

The Jadzeea dossier was easily the best of the features. Many of us on this site seem to really love Terry and her character, and this was the best interview and character explanation I've seen of her. Terry talked at length about the evolution of her makeup, the change in the direction of her character from measured to adventurous, seen first in season 2, and her favorite eps. She talked about "Blood Oath", also the controversial "Rejoined" where she does the lesbian kiss with a former spouse. Terry really enjoyed that story, said only good things of it. Talked about her marrige to Worf, how she did not want her character to be killed, but thought that "Change of Heart" would have been the time to do it, saying it was a good move for Worf's character as much as for her. Interesting analysis. Terry also talked about getting the role and her thoughts on the show in general.

Soon I'll do another long review of the 26 episodes, feel free to post any thoughts you have on the second season here or, like Lindley did last month, give your own grades on this season. I'll get that up by early next week at the latest.

Yep, at least $700, but it's worth it.

Soon I'll get the full season 2 review up like last season. Maybe by the end of the week, or tomorrow if it snows here again in Buffalo.

Ugh... Buying the DVDs is overly frustrating. I wish I could save up, but It'll take me a LONG time, considering I'm so young... And obvisously would not be accepted into any jobs. However, I do run a few websites that provide advertising. Hopefully, I could get some money from those. In any case, I'll get them... If only christmas was closer.
