I'm sure that I'm not the only one who had a different death envisioned for that Cardassian we've all come to love to hate, Dukat. Personally, I had thought that, because of their excellent relationship, it should have been Kira to kill Dukat, not Sisko. The Kira/Dukat episodes are not only DS9's finest, not only ST's finest, but, some of TV as a whole's finest episodes. Sisko should've been involved with Kai Winn's death, instead of Dukat. Yeah, yeah. I know. Both Dukat and Sisko were Emissaries, however, still...I thought that Kira would've been the better choice. That would've made more sense to me.

Who else agrees with me?

From Kira's perspective, Dukat was the ultimate enemy. From Dukat's perspective, it was Sisko. So I believe that the Dukat/Sisko relationship was far better, and it was entirely appropriate that Sisko and Dukat were the ones to face off in the end.

Personally, I felt that maybe it should have been Kira to fight Dukat in the end. However, if that were to happen, I'd want the end to be monumentally different. Dukat would not be the emissary of the Pah-Wraiths and the final battle would most certainly not go to Kira-Dukat.

In my version, Dukat and Kira would fight it out in some other location while Sisko fights Kai Winn, the chosen Pah-Wraiths Emissary. The battle would no longer be physical but a mental and spiritual battle between the two emissaries. Sisko would come out on top and still "die". Meanwhile, the Kira and Dukat fight is just a normal, physical fight.

While some argue that Sisko and Dukat's relationship is too personal to set aside, I don't think it would be. Sisko and Dukat had their time in "Waltz". There is very little left to say between the two beyond that point in my opinion. Kira and Dukat's relationship goes WAY back before Sisko/Dukat.

You have a really interesting idea there, Founder. I'm not sure which I would pick, though. When Dukat became part of the pah-wraith cult... I d'know, I thought it was really cool, and I really enjoyed the sort of irony in it. And it made sense. He was always so drawn to the Bajorans in a sick way, and in a sick way he tried to become a part of them. I don't think I'd trade that for a Kira/Dukat battle.

To me it didn't really matter which one did it, as long as it was done. However, I do believe that Kira deserved first dibs due to the torment that was put upon her and her people by Dukat and the Cardassians.

When I first saw Dukat, I knew he was going to die. I thought that Sisko was going to be the one to do it, but I decided differently.

I honestly thought that Ziyal should have lived to at least kill her father. I know she loved him and all, but I honestly thought that ZIYAL was going to be the one to do him in. It was sad for me to watch someone kill Ziyal in front of her father.

After that, I knew who it was going to be: Kira. Kira was so close to Ziyal, and to know that Ziyal had died would have outraged her- her already existing hate for Dukat, and now the death of her friend, was going to drive her insane until that man was dead.

I was unfortunately wrong- Sisko ended up killing Dukat. I thought for sure it was going to be Kira.

I say "Live Long and Prosper".
Then you say "Peace and Long Life".
It's the way of life.
Don't deny it.
LOVE IT.
OR DIE.

Hm...I never thought of the idea of Ziyal doing it, but that's a cool thought.
