^Haven't seen most of S6.

I'd have to go with The Way of the Warrior. Never met someone who didn't like that.

Ouch. Season Six is the best season of DS9. In fact, it's the best season Trek ever produced. You've got to see it, Lindley.

Just finished the occupation arc? That's a good one. You must be salivating over those incoming DVD's.

^Actually, I found it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. But then, I had taken a several-month hiatus from DS9 before watching that, during which I got hooked on B5. So perhaps it works better if you go directly into it from season 5.

Either that or you can't appreciate good Trek. Why would you say it wasn't all it was cracked up to be? I know it exceeded all of my expectations. *shrug*

My top list. Season 5 is the best of the 7 seasons.

1. "Improbable Cause" and "The Die is Cast" - season 3
2. "In Puragtory's Shadow" and "By Inferno's Light" - season 5
3. "In the Pale Moonlight" - season 6
4. "Past Tense" - season 3
5. "Favor the Bold" and Sacrifice of Angels" - season 6
6. "Homefront" and "Paradise Lost" - season 4
7. "The Siege of Ar-558" - season 7
8. "To the Death" - season 4
9. "The Homecoming", "The Circle", "The Siege" - season 2
10. "Captive Pursuit" - season 1
11. "For the Uniform" - season 5
12. "What You Leave Behind" - season 7
13. "Far Beyond the Stars" - season 6
14. "The Maquis" - season 2
15. "Duet" - season 1
16. "Nor the Battle To the Strong" - season 5
17. "The Wire" - season 2
18. "It's Only a Paper Moon" - season 7
19. "Rocks and Shoals" - season 6
20. "The Way of the Warrior" - season 4

Several of these are two parters. Number 9 is a three parter.

Season ranking:

season 5
season 6
season 3
season 7
season 4
season 2
season 1

Well, a few things.
-The Odo/Kira thing was dragged out too long, *particularly* given the fact that it was swept under the rug so fast.
-"Sons and Daughters" was a distraction. I could have happened later, but it interuppted the arc.
-I had previously read the DS9 Dominion War duology, which handled it a bit better (including Dax's mission on the Defiant) so of course, the episodes were kind of a let-down.

Now, that's not to say I was disappointed; I love "Call to Arms". It just wasn't quite as good as I'd been led to expect. I was expecting every episode to be a "Severed Dreams", and I should have known that would be impossible.

"In the pale moonlight"

Although any of the major fleet battle episodes entertained me.

But it's like love or hate, now is that real or fake?
Cause it's a real thin line, but that's your choice to make.
The question at hand, help me understand, is this your plan?
I think I can, can I think, then I think I can.

It's really hard to pick just one, I love the entire seven years, but The Ascent and Little Green Men were both very funny. I still laugh every time I watch them. Of course those aren't the only funny ones. The entire series was filled with just the right balance of humor, suspense, drama and emotion.

I agree. The other shows had a problem trying to use humor. I did see some good humor on Voyager and a little on TNG, too. But Enterprise has mostly been terrible at humor. The only funny things I have seen on Enterprise were on that episode where the crew becomes obsessed with things.

difficult, 'To the Death' was great for all its violence, "In Purgatory's Shadow / By Inferno's Light" also was cool.

If this is the end, so be it. I have no regrets.

You're right Kerry, it is a very difficult question. DS9 had many standout episodes.

My continued review of the 176 episodes will be complete this December, when all 7 seasons of DS9 have finally been released. I'll post a complete ranking, 1-176 after I see them all again, although I count 8 eps of the 176 that I have not ever seen. That will change.

My fav episode is a very close tie with:

What you Leave Behind
Sacrifice of Angels
In the Pale Moonlight

But, #1 has to be:

In The Pale Moonlight, Season 6
