Yes it does, what do you think causes wars.

I thought the party line was religion causes wars? Isn't that why you say that some middle eastern countries hate us? Because we are "the devil"? (That is what has been said.) Never has anyone said, "We hate Americans because they love their country,

If you come across like that again, you won't be allowed in WN. Am I clear, or am I talking to a child?
You've shown several times you don't have a damn clue what your talking about, when facts refute your opinion.

You are are warned.

FIRST OFF:(this particular post has nothing to do with any sort or any war in mind, so please don't make any war comments about it - it has to do with some earlier posts in this topic)

For those who care, I was reading some earlier arguments about the whole difference in the US measurements of feet, inches, etc... to the rest of the world's meters and that sorta thing. When I was in school, the only thing we were allowed to use in all my highschool science classes and many math classes was the metric system. The metric system as far as I know is used universally in things such as universal science and math, and that sort of thing. The whole feet/inches thing really doesn't affect anything, so i don't see what the big fuss is about. The metric system IS used here, so comments about us just using feet and such is irrelivent. Also just a note, but the US isn't the only place that doesn't solidly uses the metric system. Japan and China also have entirely different systems of measurements, but I don't see anyone harping on them about it. You know why?? Because it's not that big of a deal - just like it isn't, and shouldn't be for the US to use feet...

Also for those who care to know, I met a girl online in a Lord of the Rings web site back in Oct/Nov 2003. She is from northern Germany, and learned English through her school (so we were able to talk and such online just fine). Anyways, we chatted online often and became very good friends. So close infact that she came and visited me here in the US for a week and a half in June!! We had never met in real life before, and she had never been to the US before either, and didn't know what to expect. When asked by all the people that she met what she thought of the USA, her comments included "Everything is bigger (cars, shampoo bottles, buildings...etc), The food is different but great, and EVERYONE is SOO nice!" She commented on how even people she didn't know, like that the stores and such at Mall of America, were just really friendly although they didn't know her. She had a WONDERFUL time here, and she told me that she would like to come back again, and would like it if she could get a job here to live here for a longer period of time. It was nice to hear such great things from someone who is from another country, and came here for a first time.

I myself went to Europe exactly one year ago, for one month. We traveled to 9 countires including England, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Frace, Spain, and Potrugal. I had a FABULOUS time, but I could also first hand give my account of the positve and negative things about each country and city we went to. Heck, anyone can do that with every single occupied centimeter of land in this entire world. It's really pointless to be like "well, you guys do this, and you're bad because of this." Well, each person on this earth has his/her share of faults, and therefore, no one has the right to point a finger because when you point a finger as someone else - 3 are pointing right back at you. That goes for me, and for everyone else. I'm just sick and tired of hearing about people being so negative and ripping on one other. All your arguing will change nothing, except for making nurves hotter than they already are. Besides, where's the uniqueness if everyone is the same?? I could go on about that forever, but i won't.

So anyways, this is just my opinion in some of the stuff posted on this topic. Say what you what... argue with me what you may, but my opinion is this, so please don't try to act like you can change it by fighting with me. I'm not here to pick a fight, i'm only here to express my thoughts. I may not agree with what some of you say, but that's fine, you don't have to agree with me either. I just wanted to post what i thought, and that's all.

Emm No!

The Middle Eastern Countries generally don't hate the U.S with the Exception of Iran.

I never hear any Government Officials calling the U.S the Devil, only Militants and Exiles like OSB.

^You'd be right.

And it has been said, Sean, several times. I never said any "government officials". We are the "Great Satan". And according to a lot of posts in here, and CNN,, the middle east doesn't like the US, but you all say it's because of our support of Israel. K...

Yeah fair enough perhaps in disputed regions such as Palestine and Iraq/Iran, and even the Wahabi School of thought in Saudi Arabia but the rest of the Middle Eastern nations don't seem to have any bone to pick with America- Turkey was praised by Bush and is considered an Ally. Lebanon is indebted to the West for helping to establish the seperate christian state. King Abdullah of Jordan comes from a Line of Men who have been Allies and Firm-Supporters of the West, and he is still popular among the citizens of Jordan. In fact I'll even quote a Politician I knew in Giza, Egypt when I say "Our bone to pick is with the U.S Government not the U.S People".

The Majority of Middle Eastern people aren't the So-called Anti-Western Islamic Militants seen in the Media, in fact the majority go out and have the occasional drink, miss out 1-2 prayers a day, and are Religious in nothing else but Name. The Majority want to come and live in the West where they can have a Luxurious Lifestyle as they see it (Excluding the Saudis, UAE, Kuwaitis).

In fact, an Iraqi couple staying in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) where I was 3 days ago were even telling me how the Iraqi people in Basra wished the Militants would "F*** off and allow the U.S to help build up their Economy like they have done with Germany and Japan after World War 2".
