I dunno if someone mentioned this, and it's not really an error-error, but it's still a bit of a slip up. In some episodes where Roxanne Dawson is pregnant in real life, but B'elanna isn't, there are time when the camera quick moves or something, and you get a quick belly shot and see the baby. It's not very noticeable unless you slow-mo everything. I must admit though, they did a FABULOUS job hiding her when she was pregnant.

I wouldn't call that an error. Only for the mere fact that you can only hide something for so long without getting the belly shot...lol.

They usually can do pretty good with that sort of thing. It's really amazing how that can work at times, lol.

just a couple of things i've noticed.

First: In the epi Partuition (season 2) Janeway has short hair yet the very next epi she has her long hair pulled up again.

Second: In the episode "Imperfection" Tom hands the doctor an instrument and he (Tom) is wearing a wedding ring; but this was the epi before drive which is the epi where Tom and B'Elanna actually do get married.

I realize for the second one it was probably a matter of Drive was supposed to be filmed before Imperfection but whatever.

I was told that this is because they wanted to try an episode using Kate's own real short hair. But after they tried it out for an episode, they didn't like it so they went back to the wig. At which point they finally "cut" Janeway's hair in Season 4.

I don't know how true that is, about trying out short hair for her, but it sounds reasonably logical to me because they orginally filmed the first episode with her own natural, shorter hair and decided against it...so they may have wanted to try it and see if they wanted to do that again...

Ya, Trek has a very large tendency to do that. I never noticed the error, I will certainly pay attention when I get to see that episode again...but Trek has a big tendency to film 2 episodes, and then switch the order in which they were filmed...and that's even shown on their covers...It shows the production number...not all of them are in order...

It's not so much as "Switch" In many cases filming is done out of order for scheduling, or many other things.

In this case? Perhaps the episodes were finished in a differnt order, that is the post production work finished faster in the ep with the ring, then the one with out it, so it was sent out first.

Yeah this was just a production change but at the same time did not kill the storyline

Everyone is imperfect , there are bound to be mess-ups, its good to just overlook them and enjoy the episodes.

They didnt want to show Kate Mulgrew running. lol.

So, in the orginal scripted idea for Year of Hell (I'm guessing), Kes was supposed to be in it. Obviously they just decided to make it seem that there was an alteration in the timeline or something, b/c Tuvok did say, something like, "There may be a significant affect on the timeline" b/c she had told them this information.

- I also read in the recent ST magazine they were having a Voyager edition. And "Year of Hell" was supposed to last a year, but the network wasnt going to go for that, so they just made it into a two parter.

- Yes, I've figured pretty much same thing. They have an easter egg about it on VOY season 1. That they had to reshoot about a weeks worth of footage (for "Caretaker") because the network wanted her to have longer hair - they didnt like her shorter hair. I figure that TPTB wanted to try out her hair (for "Partuition"), and the network still didnt like it. So they tried again later...gradually going from the bun to the ponytail (which pretty much started to come around when Chakotay cut some of her hair off to start a fire in "Basics") and finally to her real hair in "Year of Hell".

My solution to that little error... If they have dermal regeneraters; I'm sure they would have devices that would be able to stimulate hair growth. I mean take a look at Seven.

Obviously it doesn't work on Holograms though, look at the Doctor. lol.

and also in the episode where Kes keeps jumping back in time. He had a pretty nasty hairstyle then too. Totally didn't suit the EMH at all.

Awe, that's totally not fair. That would have been freakin' sweet!!! At least then people wouldn't complain that Voyager pushed the reset button during that season, because they wouldn't have! LOL...but still, that would have been sweet!!!
