I liked this episode a lot. I didn't realize how much I'd missed ST over the summer...

I just read the review at IGN and it didn't score too highly. It basically said it was more of the same, Trip & Archer getting captured and needing to be rescued. I can't say anything 'cos I havn't seen it though...

I thought it was rather interesting...
I give it an 8/10.
Only thing I didn't like about it was lack of development with the Xindi and such; but I know it will come about later on in the series...
Time to burn it onto a disc!

Late on my thoughts, but here they are.
The Xindi storyline is a promising one. I like how we see the Xindi counsel is shown, plotting and all while Archer searches in vein. Archer seemed stronger, but Trip is going to be a real character to watch this season, both with his dealings with the Xindi and T'Pol. The sub line with T'Pol and Trip was a bit cheesy, but not to bad as far as a view goes with T'Pol having her shirt off.
I also like her new look, very hot. Good start to this season, which has some potential to be a good one. Lets see what develops.

Rumor has it that her and Archer will have a relationship... I am thinking that her and Tripp will have one first.
Isn't Sarek half human?

If t'pol and trip are gunna have a relationship, i think it could start off in a much better way than that...

enough with exploring emotions can't we just have a normal vulcan for once instead of retreading the same old path that has been walked many times before

No, Sarek is not half and half to my knowlege. He did marry and have kids with both a Vulcan and a human, bearing at least 2 sons, the full Vulcan of Sybok and the half Vulcan Spock.

I have to say that I am fascinated with trip/t'pol. I have not been so intrigued with other pairings in star trek before. All the others have been boring. riker/troi, worf/jadzia, janeway/chakotay, yawn.....

I came, I saw, I was...dissapointed?...
Unfortunately I was. I bought the VCD a couple of days ago and as soon as I got home from college I stuck it in the DVD player and watched. The new tune made me cringe even more than it did the first time. It sounds even more "pop"-ish.
The storyline itself was good (if nothing original) and I liked the army people (I've forgotten their names) but I think it was the music that spoilt it. In the "Rescue" at the end the music was not strong enough IMO and consequentially did not create any tension...it just seemed like a casual day-to-day thing and it was over all too quickly...
I think they need to build-up the suspense more leading up to a climax at the end. (I liked the way they did that with the planet right at the very end, very mysterious) but I think they needed to do a similar thing with the rescue...I don't know how to express it really...they just need more of a build-up in tension and suspense throughout the episode...give the viewer something they didn't imagine happening rather than what they expect...that kinda thing lol.

Forgive my ignorance, why is that a bad sign? (I don't know how the tv ratings system works )
