Ahhh......actually, Tasha came back from a parallel universe to become the mother of Sela the Romulan. So she didn't completely die either, until later.

I mean, he was getting beaten up and/or captured every other episode.
However, after "Fallen Hero" I think he's finally starting to fit into the role! |
That about sums it up for me!

Lol, I take it back. After seeing more of Enterprise I have changed my mind and agree with you that he does suit the role and does make a good captain. <but not as good as Janeway >

No, I don't think he's doing a very good job. He gets captured every other episodes. He has no presense on the bridge not like Janeway. He is a poor Captain compared to the others.

He's a bit foolhardy, but Archer does very well considering he's the first human to even see a lot of these people. It's all new to him, and he wasn't the best trained, because it's all new to the teachers too! He does fine for his situation.

No Starfleet Captain ever had it as hard as Archer. His vessle is unproven technology, his crew is small and inexperienced, he has Vulcans looking over his shoulder all the time, and oh yeah, his mission is the first of it's kind. He's done all he can so far and if what Daniels says is true, Archer has a lot of work ahead of him.

I think he's far from great at the moment, but he'll probably fit into the role once he's used to it

I think it's good that archer is not a great captain especially since this is the first line of starfleet captains it gives them room to elvolve into brilliant tacticians like sisko
