I think the Borgs arrogance would result in their losing a battle against DS9. And if Voyager, an Intrepid class starship could defeat them, repeatedly, surely a station outfitted for war would hold their own, also.

Here is the way it would go. DS9 would detect the Borg, and evacuate everyone to Bajor. Now, since Voyager made it home, DS9 would activate the outer armor (seen in the last episode of Voyager), load the torpedo bays with transphasic torpedoes, easily destroying the borg.

At the end though before the hubb is destroyed she assimilateed the armor technology and they hit with about six transphasic torpedoes and even if one hubb collapsed there are still five so wouldn't they adapt anyway, instant immersion?

there are six transwarp hubbs in all, subtarcting the 1 voyager blew the cr** out of. only 5 left. but i think in a battle between a borg cube and DS9 the cube would have it's As* kicked

I think the Borg would just attack and win easily as on Ds9 there are few actual modes of escaping exepct by the Defiant or escape pods.

The battle in DS9:Emmisary (the first ep) was the one in TNG:Best Of Both Worlds. The Borg destroyed 39 Federation starships at Wolf 359, and a number of Klingon ships.

Sisko lost his wife on the Saratoga, but escaped with Jake in an escape pod.

DS9 is typically armed with 5000 photon torpedoes, multiple torpedo launchers situted around the station, and integrated phaser banks on all levels, plus the Defiant was built to fight the Borg and is armed with Quantum Torpedoes.

Presuming the Borg only used one cube, and DS9 used the same frequency rotation protocols that Voyager used to be so effectice, I think DS9 would win.

Depends, like I said, on whether or not they use Voyager's frequency modulation protocols.

I don't think that DS9 would survive more than two to three cubes. Not that i don't have faith in DS9, it's just that they don't have enough defenses.

I really think that it would be a really close call, DS9 has never had the born interfere with anythings, so the crew does not have much expierance with them, so the Borg may actually win.

Very nice Lindley, I must congradulate you on that.

BUT

One Borg cutting beam, *makes swooshing sound* and an entire section of DS9 comes apart.

Now this is an intresting topic, pretty old

Well, I defaintly think that a borg cube could 'destroy' ds9 if it wanted to. A sphere is well very debatable, but I doubt it could.

Suposedly, ds9 is equipted with 5000 photon torps, but that does not mean she can fire all 5000 torps in 30 seconds! Does n e one know the firing rate and number of tubes on ds9?

Think about this as well, ds9 may win against a small armada of 10 or 15 low to medium powered ships lets say, but that means ds9 will be taking fire from all angles, and ds9 may be set up in such a way as to divide all its fire for a full 360 degrees on all axises. It will probally be more limited to a much more powerful ship such as a borg cube attacking from one side. It would only need to weaken the shields on that one side. And ds9 would not be able to take full advantage of all her firepower on just one side (although I could be wrong about this one).

Remember, the station is fixed in space on the xyz axises. Therefore, I think the cube would win.

I think the E-E might even win against ds9

Nah I still reckon the Klingon ships and the Defaint docked at ds9 would tan the E-E's hide

^Well the cube would have no proplem, but I was actually thinking just ds9 with no support vs the E-E

The E-E can Nev4r lose!

I'd agree with Prankish. You have to take into account the fire rate/vs how fast the Borg can adapt. If the Borg can take out 39 Federation ships, most of them medium class, then you gotta wonder.

Hell, DS9 almost got their ass handed several times, early on, by the Cardassians.

The E-E is a very powerful ship, more powerful than everyone thinks. It's not just a small advancement from her predecessor the galaxy. The E-E from nemesis has rear phaser arrays added to the warp pylons, And more fore and aft torpedo bays. It has been been said by Rich Steinbach, that the updated sovereign class can fire as many as 168 torpedos in one single volley!!

I know i'm obsessed with the E-E

That *was* before the weapons upgrade.
