No humanoid lifeform from Starfleet or the Federation would be able to compete with the genius-like intelligence and knowledge of a medical hologram like the Doctor from Voyager. Yay Doctor!

I agree, the doctor on voyager has backgrounds of knowledge from many surgeons and doctors and also has new knowledge of antidotes and cures from the delta quadrant to treat patients.
Emh-doctor on voyager gets my vote

Bones, of course. I've always had a crush on him, and I don't think that its main reason was that he was the very first ST doctor I knew. Bones had his own way to be fascinating: he was short-tempered, but also true-hearted, and his manners and attitude were the typical ones of a deep-south man's: warm and - when he felt like it - reassuring. His relationship with his superior officers - Kirk and Spock - surely highlighted the whole TOS series.
Besides Bones, the EHM is very fine. His manners has improved a lot since the first episode, and he has a very deep, pleasant voice.

I liked Dr Pulaski best. She wasn't as smooth a character as Dr Crusher but had more personality. Not very easy to handle, rough and even a bit bitchy at times, but in an emergency you could always count on her. Great sense of homour and loyalty, too. How she saved Worf's reputation when he got the Klingon Measles was one of the highlights IMO.
On the whole she was more of a man than most male crew members.
Dr Crusher was simply too much "nice girl from next door" and a bit too colourless for me - Doris Day in space.
We see Bones more as a buddy of Kirk than actually practizing medicine, hence I really have problems to think of him as a doctor. I could imagine him better as a cowboy, John Wayne style.
Dr Bashir may be brilliant, but he is too insecure. Too immature even at times.
And the EMH is simply too nuts for me, with his constant desire to be more human than any real human (plus: repeatedly he neglects his work in order to do something human-ish. Not really what you want your doctor to do when you are seriousely ill.)
The only real competition to Dr Pulaski is the ENT doc (sorry, I can't remember his name atm). He's competent, quick, has a sense of humour and is self-assured and calm. Just what you want your doctor to be like.

The Voyager doc is the best (gee I wish he had gotten a name).
I also liked Phlox although the character was severely underused.
Gates McFadden must portray the most irrelevant, non utilised character in any movie ever and she has been in four, my lord that is a good gig.
