Who was talking to you, Cathexis? I was referencing the stat, as I said in my post.
Please don't take a general statement and try and turn it like I'm attacking you. Thank you.

(BTW, like I've said a zillion times before, if I'm directly speaking to you, I'll say your name, or quote you. Got it now? Good, )

I wasn't trying to turn it in to anything.....but you did make a response in reference to what I said. I didn't feel attacked in any way.

Anyway.....

I think Alito will be confirmed no matter what was said and done during the hearing.

Huh. RM had mentioned it first, then you. I wasn't aware the information belonged to the last person to use it. Silly me.
And you did get defensive...

Anyway, moving on?

I still think you all are making a mountain out of a molehill about the hearings. It was rude and inconsiderate. I concede that. However, the Dems did pretty much say they were going to try to destroy his chances of getting the spot. This was expected, it happened. Have you seen the British Parlement in session? I haven't, but I've heard it's something to see. Crazy.

Well, we'll find out tomorrow what happens with Alito. This should be interesting for two reasons. If (it's still an if) he gets confirmed, what will the reaction be? And how will his rulings go? There is a chance he could start immediatly if he's confirmed, and there is at least one abortion related case on the docket right now.

Lol, you may be right TM.....probably are...lol....I think I just got so worked up because of some of the things that were said. This certainly has been quite exciting for me to watch.....considering the fact that I don't normally pay attention to the Supreme Court stuff.....I'm so used to the French proceedings lol.

And yes, I've seen Parliament....WOW. You're absolutely right about how crazy they can be......

Hey the British parliament isn't crazy. It gets things a hell of a lot faster than most governments. None of this "polite" nonsense. They don't mess about, they get straight to the point

^It's not a bad system. Works quite well in fact. But its really rowdy compared to the Senate here, and that's the point I was trying to make

I'm going with TM's response on this one.

I like the British Parliament....brutal honesty....

But, just like Montesquieu thought/wrote, different systems work for different peoples.

I like watching BBC Parliament, or the Daily Politics when it's prime minister's questions.

Yup, it can get rowdy "order... Order... ORDER!!!!

It's fun to watch though. I'm gonna see if I can watch a session in person sometime.
(humm... that doesn't look spelt right. Nevermind )

Anyway, back to the topic...
