Once I'm asleep I don't have a problem... It is falling asleep that I have trouble with.

Hehe...that's why we have the television. I can tell you the entire tv schedule from around 10-2am. Oh yeah, never look at the clock, I've learned if you don't look at the clock you fall asleep faster. (Not that I'd know what time I did fall asleep...yeah, I don't explain myself real well. )

llol, funny you say that because when someone calls me and is like,
"what time are you going to sleep?"
I'm like.....
"I don't know, whatever time I fall asleep"
lol, it is different every night.

^Yeah, I totally understand that. It's not possible to have a set time. Then you think about having to fall asleep and thinking keeps me awake. It just doesn't work. Hehe...

Ooh, I think I've heard of that. Isn't that where you stop breathing for like ten seconds or so while you're sleeping?

^I know it. The nights I can't get to sleep are the nights when I have something exciting coming in the morning and I know I have to get enough sleep. Or when I just can't stop thinking.

Hehe...I do that. Just can't stop thinking. Remember, thinking about not thinking just doesn't work.

^lol, I know it. And that's what usually happens. I'm like: OK, I gotta stop thinking! And I get so mad at my brain because it forgot how to stop thinking and go to sleep.

^Exactly! I think we need off switches that can be used for our brains. That's one of the reasons I have sleeping problems. I can't stop thinking! I tried thinking of nothing a few times, but then...I was still thinking. It's depressing. I can't think while I'm in school, yet I can at 2am.

I've been doing Welsh phrases in my head,

See... I found out that right before I go to sleep, random images start to pop into my mind when I have my eyes closed. So when I can't sleep, I lay down and start to force random images into my head... and then by themselves, they just get more random and I fall asleep. But I can't say that's I've ever had to deal with insomnia, so I don't know if that will help.

I've found that reciting the same thing over and over at least quiets me enough to rest, but not always to sleep.

the only time I get insomnia is in summer when I start sleeping in, then I cant fall asleep the next night, and I start having to go to sleep latter, and then because of that sleep in longer, wake up latter, and cant get to sleep till even latter. finly to cure this I just set my alarm clock now I wake up at the same time every day, and guess what, no more insomnia.
