I was making the point that people do things in the name of a religion even if it disagrees with the religion's teachings. And it is the fault of the people, not the religion.
And the Crusades and Inquisition DID happen, and they were improperly based on Christianity. Those are facts. And facts are not "bashing". They're just facts.

When you bring up something so long ago in a discussion like this, saying something like, "Christianity teaches us to love each other, yet there were the Crusades. Oh, yeah, and the Inquisition," that IS bashing, because that was a LONG time ago and yet is not what Christianity is. It was a dark time in our HISTORY, YEARS ago. You don't bring something like that up in a modern discussion

The truth is not bashing. It's simply the truth.
For a more current-events example, Christians and Budhists have been slaughtering each other in India in recent years. That is not "bashing" either the country of India, nor Christianity or Budhism. It is an indictment of the people involved.

^He has a point. And I'm sure we all know that just because someone does something in the name of a religion, doesn't mean that's a true representation of that religion.
I feel oddly like an echo,

Yeah but webtaz99 is saying the EXACT same thing I said. Zero said something about Islam being bad. I was telling her that Islam is about respecting women, or at least they mention that. That it was the individuals, not the Religion. He could have just said "I agree." But I'll stop. I guess he wasn't bashing my Religion. Back on topic...

Yeah, from what I've read about Islam, it's not anything like what the Iraqi insurgents, the Hamas, the Taliban, any of them are doing.
And this killing of Afghan women has been going on for years. How nice of the UN to be "concerned" now.
