Well, I was agreeing with L.A. times. So umm... maybe the whole newspaper is racist too.
And plus, the hispanic race is going to override any other race pretty soon if it has not already.. And I find it disturbing to know the children... america's future does not do well in school. How are they gonna lead this country? I guess the whites or asians or any other race will have to lead it, and give the latin and black people something to complain about because they would feel they aren't given a chance... when really they are.

Wow. You really are racist trash. I don't even know why I bother debating with someone like you.
Where does the paper blame the culture?
Just because Hispanics override other races doesn't mean they are going to lead the country. Hispanics do, do well in school. Out of statistics they drop out more, does it say they do bad in school? Whites and Asians are gonna lead the country? Whites have always led this country genius. Alongside many minorities. Blacks and Hispanics and virtually every race built this nation. So stop acting like Blacks and Hispanis are running it into the ground. We are given a chance, but then ignorant people like you shoot us down. Its scary to know others share your close minded views.

Do you see what I mean? You think I AM SHUTTING YOU DOWN? lol what the hell did I do? Yea I do feel the latins will run this country eventually, and i hope they do! I even voted for hispanic mayors and governer, so they can have a chance. I know whites have always led the country, And I hope to see other races do such a thing too... don't trip on that! I never said blacks and hispanics are running it into the ground...

Since when do you need proof? You certainly haven't to this point.
And yeah, your comments have been very racist. Try thinking before posting. Like Aaron said.

By definition, a culture includes the environment where the youngsters grow up. Hispanic culture is not the same everywhere. There are many places in the world where Hispanics live without the extra burden of the inner-city environment. And there are non-Hispanics living with the burden of the inner-city environment.
As as to having a hard life, why do the ones who don't drop out stay in? It's an individual decision, regardless of environment, etc.

It all traces back to the parents, and yes, perhaps some of it is culture. Although that still does not mean you can classify a whole group of people, culture could perhaps have something to do with it. It is a known fact that african americans and hispanics have higher drop out rates for the most part than all other ethnic groups. Sure you can call hard life, but what about Asian immigrants. They work their asses off like many hispanics, and yet still maintain among the highest scores over all. Why is that? It is because they have parents that push them. All of this traces back to where their parents put the priorities in the home.

I see what you are trying to say. But that doesn't change the fact that Beta6 words were racist. So defend her all you want, but nothing will change that. On to the main topic. Yes Asians put school as a VERY high priority. Thats also why a lot of the children commit suicides. No joke. My girlfriend has told me about that. I have many Asian friends. Most of them are very intelligent. Again, you make an invalid point. Asians tend to live in better enviornments than Hispanics. That is a huge factor that you two ignore for some reason. Perhaps some Hispanic parents don't put enough emphasis on school. Some Asian parents put too much and they lose their child. A middle line must be drawn.

OK since you insist the reason the stats are so high because of the lifestyle.. My step-mom came from mexico, didn't speak ANY english and she was a kid.. like 9 or 10. She did not live in a good area, in El Paso, tx..
if she came home with a bad grade, her parents would be very angry with her, and the rest of the kids... She made very good grades and learned the language.
WHY? because her parents pushed her... and now she is teacher.. history and english! go figure!

Did you ever stop to think that maybe not everyone will be put into the situation? Oh because one person can do it, everyone can. Thats not that way it works. There are too many variables that alter situations.
Also many African and Hispanic Americans live in poverty. Many have to drop out to get a job to help support their family. Not because its in our culture. There are reasons for it. No one, of any race, drops out for fun.

Well, from what i see (JUST FROM DRIVING DOWN TOWN) I see kids on the streets playing, when they should be in school. Kids should not have to get a job to support their families. Their job is to do well in school so they can have a good life. If their parents can not support their families they should go on welfare like everyone else that can not support their families. After all, that is what it is there for.... right?

Oh im sure. You drive and see ALL the Hispanic kids. Give me a break. Kids should not have to support families, but its a terrible reality. They are poverty stricken. Going on Welfare is not always as easy as you make it out to be. Also there are the gang problems. A lot of these kids join gangs and don't care about school. They figure they can get money from stealing and/or selling drugs.

And again, I proove my point. Kids with good parental supervision will not join gangs. k?
And no, I don't see ALL mexican or black kids on the streets.. But I do see some. There should be no reason for that.

Parental supervision? When you work as much as they do, its kinda hard to keep tabs on your kids. Don't be so damn ignorant. You're point of view is African and Hispanic American parents don't care. Their kids don't care. Its in their culture to be lazy. You're close mindedness is only embarrassing you.

You are putting words in my mouth, hun. I never said they are lazy and never said the kids don't care. Regardless of how much they work, they should always keep tabs on their kids and establish some form of punishment for misbehaving. If they can not control their kids.. MAYBE they should have gotten an abortion!!!
EDIT:
And i just want to add, I had very very little supervision, in fact my grandparents did not care what I did. My dad would call me on the phone and occasionaly pay me visits, and talk to me... letting me know what was right and wrong. That is all I needed. I did not join gangs or sell drugs or drop out of school. And I could have, being that most of my friends were involved in gang activities and what not.

Ah you're wonderful solution to everything. Abortions. Maybe they know thats morally wrong and decided not to. Regardless of how much they work they should keep tabs on their kids? Do you think its that easy to stop a kid from joining a gang? Wow thats naive. You cna keep bringing up stories about your youth but I will never believe it will ever come close to where they live.

I'm not trying to bring up stroies about my youth to show you! I'm just letting you know there can be a difference.. Checking in on your kids... or TRYING to teach them right and wrong will go along way. If the kids respect their parents, they will not do stupid things like that. And yes, I feel it is easy to stop a kid from hanging out with the wrong crowd. (if the parents feel it gangs are wrong).
If your children have respect for you, they will listen to you or behave so to speak. I know where I lived wasn't in the ghetto or barrio, But it wasn't far from it. Abortions are not my wonderful solution to everything. If the parents are not fit to raise kids, they shouldn't have them. Why didn't they practice not having sex.... like your solution? Why didn't they get condoms or birth control? This is why I support abortions. Because people who have kids and can not afford to take care of them.. they end up draining the economy and joining gangs and what not, like you say!

Thye do check in on their kids. It isn't enough. Oh what? Now they don't try to teach their kids right and wrong? How ignorant. Has the thought ever crossed your tiny mind that maybe they teach them, but the kids become so confused by the bad teachings of others that its hard to choose? You feel it is easy? Then you are definitly not a parent and you don't know s**t about being one. Maybe they did practice it and the condom didn't work or the pill didn't work. Did you ever think about that? also if they're married, they don't need to practice it. I never said they drain their economy. Thats your red neck views. Not mine.

Since when does the pill or condoms not work? Kids wouldn't be so confused by others bad doings if they knew what was right and wrong. Maybe you are right... Maybe I don't know too much about being a parent. And I guess that is ok, being that I don't want damn kids anwyay! Yea, I did say they drained the economy when they join gangs. When I drive arround LA there is always some form of graffiti <~ m/s? or broken things. So I'm a red neck? I guess I am being that my family is from the south, and was involved in KKK. (i know waht ur gonna try and say, that now im racial against blacks and any other race cause my family was) But that isn't the case. I don't care what I am.. if you think i'm a redneck or hillbilly, lol. I am proud of what i ahve become... A strong independent girl, who made it in santa monica on her own since the age of 17. YAY for me, i'm a redneck!!!

Since when do condoms and pills don't work? Since they've been created. They have a failure rate. Knowing right and wrong does not alter your choice. All that does is show you the door. You are the one that has to step through it. Nothing is as simplistic as you make it out to be.

I agree, it is not easy. And you are the one that does have to chose. I'm just saying... If the kids see the kind of life they are living, and want more... they will choose to do good. But if the parents don't try to teach them there is more out there than what they are living in now... That type of lifestyle will be all they know, and all they want. That is just my opinion.. Maybe I'm putting too much faith in parents these days.
they are 99.9% safe. And with a combo of condoms and BC, i doubt u will get preggo.

Its hard to choose good when you're surrounded by bad. The lifestyle in the urban areas are bad. More has to be done to improve live there. Blaming the residents won't fix anything. Espeically blaming the culture. Like someone else pointed out, if its the culture then why do some stay in schools? Why did I? Spain has excellant education. The reason some of the South American nations don't have the best education is the governments. It is NOT in our culture to drop out of school.

Ehh, urban areas aren't bad. and i never blamed residents. You are the one who insists it is the surroundings that cause them to give up on school, not me hun! I stayed in school too. I never said spain didn't have good education. I don't think my argument was about ur culture dropping out, I was talking about the people here, in la.
