A second is FAR too long to verify something like that...it, I'm sure, takes far less than that to verify...

But I don't think so about the "knowing" who comes in and uses the console. It's probably more along the lines of the computer cant' stop you when you input coordinates for beaming...You just better know what you're doing. That's what I would think...I mean yes, I would have to say there are definitely precautionary measures and such, but at the same time, it's probably combined with "the operator better know what they're doing."
