No, smoking should be outlawed, even, for people under age 18! Not just buying them, but using them.
We NEED TO CRACK DOWN ON THE SMOKING!

Yes, they should. They should also have some sort of system that prevents other people from entering. For example, the place where my mom worked before had a special security system where you had to insert your ID into like a credit card slide, and only then would it open up the door.
Exactly, that's what I've been trying to say! Make it where it is completely out of the non-smokers' reach!

No. And it's quite obvious why. And I can't believe that you are saying that a drug, nicotine, cannot be addictive. Remember how much you enjoyed your first cigarette? And please don't say you did. The smoke paralyzes the villi in your lungs, making you choke, until you get used to it. It's something you chose to do, something you made yourself do, for whatever the reason. Most probably because you thought it "looked cool".
For the most part, smokers stink. Don't care how much you bathe, you carry the odor with you.

There should be a smokers area in high school. I hated having to sneak out to the parking lot and looking out in the restroom when I just wanted to have a smoke between classes and besides this room would bring teachers and students closer together (can't you just see Mr. Brown, the Physics teacher, "Hey there Johnny can I bum a square off ya?").
But seriously, I think smoking rooms would reduce under-age smoking. Peer pressure to smoke would probably loosen up once it's taboo aspect is curbed by the Establishment's (!) acceptance. Either way, people ae going to smoke at school.

Anyway Paul, whats wrong with smoking out of the school in your morning, lunch or afternoon coffee break? Why does this school so need a 'special smokers only room'. It just makes no sense.
I would have to agree with most people here. Smoking is nothing but bad.

Smoking, is addictive. I don't think I need to repeat Kyre's post, that would be foolish. Because obviously you're not going to listen. And I would like to know, too; How was your first cigerrette?
I'll tell you about mine.
I was made to inhale, first cigarette. Now that's just not fun. When you start smoking you choke, and you hack. But when you first start, inhaling you get light headed, things get fuzzy and stuff starts to spin. You feel like you can't breath, which in fact you can't. Lets, just say I didn't enjoy it. And I didn't continue, no matter how much my friends seemed to enjoy it.
At that age, oh say.. eight, I didn't know what smoking did. But I do now, and I can say I'll never light up again. I'd rather be able to sing when I want to. Or too talk. Which is getting more difficult when I go long period of times without doing so. My father smokes, and we have a tiny apartment, which smells terrible, because he won't stop.
It's in the floor, in the furniture, my clothing. I can take a shower, and grab clean clothing. Go to put it on and smell it in my clothing. My sense of smell is being affected by his smoking, and he's killing me.
At times it's very hard to breath. Especially before I go to sleep. I feel like my lungs can take in only a centimeter of air, which isn't enough to be actually breathing. And it's very very painful to breath.
My father chokes, coughes, and hacks more and more often theses days. It is the most terrible sound, I will ever hear in my life. Like his lungs are full of holes and phlegm. And there's very little air in them to begin with, but it's no all coming out, or at trying to. But it's being blocked. Which it is.
Don't tell me it's addictive, because if I told my dad he was driving to fast and he was going to kill me. He's slow down. If I told him he was going to hurt me with something he was swinging around, he'd stop. But when I tell him he's killing me with his smoking, he just smiles and looks away. When I tell him he's killing himself. That's he's going to get lung cancer and emphysema, he tells me it's too late.
Because the drug has so tight a hold on him, he doesn't care. Not that he's killing himself or that he's killing me.
I have no doubt that my father won't be here much longer. I'll be lucky if he makes it to my eighteenth birthday and farther.
Smoking kills. It's a slow tortorious death, and why anyone would want to put themselves and their loved ones through it, I don't know. Other then completely selfishness.

I don't see why not. If someone smokes then they do...give them a place to do it so they are not sneaking around all the time to do so. They are legally aloud to smoke...so it's the campuses job to make sure that they have a plave to do it.

Ok seriously, I don't want to hear how your first cigarette was and I don't think anyone else does either. You don't need to jump COMPLETELY off topic and give me your life story because I'm NOT interested. The topic is simply about your opinion on SCHOOL AND CIGARETTES, not the health hazards involved with smoking. If you want to BIT** about smoking hazards do it in another topic, .

How can any discussion involving cigarettes, especially this one since you've decided to allow smoking to occur in schools, not include the hazards that come with it?
Why don't we discuss some other stuff too. How about drug use and underage drinking? But we should only focus on the positive aspects of these things, as I'm not really interested in young heroin addicts or vomiting twelve year olds falling about in the streets, regardless of the fact that it's the only important point to acknowledge.
All you people with morals leave now please. This topic is only for those who support smoking in schools, and the subsequent peer pressure that comes with it.
Good day.

^This topic is NOT for only people who support it. It's only for people to answer the simple question, "Do you think that schools should give teens (18 years of age or older) a certain place to smoke on campus?" That's what I meant.

And to answer that "simple" question, you have to go a little further than simply yes or no.

Although I'm very liberal and have no problems with people smoking. Smoking has serious health drawbacks and little, if any, benefits.

It's adding to the my reasons why cigarettes shouldn't be allowed into school. You know, I'm agruing my point, with facts that I know.
However, obviously you are not a person who will listen to anything another person says. Believe it not, I've listened to your point of view, thought about it. Did you mine?
Or were you simply shooting down anyone that disagreed with you? I'm done with this topic, I'll not talk to def ears.

He's right, what better way to argue your point, than with your own experiences?

So, what's your point? If I was to say that in my experiences, cigarertes saved me, that wouldn't exactly change the facts that they kill, would it? In his/her experience they were bad, she/he's simply using it to support his/her's point.

ONCE I bummed a smoke off my older friend, and the first time I inhaled, I choked, but by the time I was done with that cigarette, I didn't choke as much as I did the first time. I also have to say, that with all the stress in my life, if I was 18, and could turn to tobaco instead of pot, I would. My argument stands, a smoking lounge would be good in some schools.

Yes Paul but you are dismissing everyone else's just because they prove something other than what you want to hear..... He/She just basically said that their father wont live long and they are sick from smoking and you simply said "whatever" because it proved that cigerrettes are bad, and shouldnt be anywhere, which wasnt the answer that you wanted.

I also take offense to that, Paul, because both my parents smoke, and my dad won't make it 60. That means he isn't going to see me turn 20, he isn't going to be able to walk me down the isle at my wedding, or any of that stuff that a father should be able to do for his daughter.
