Smoking should be banned, it's for morons and an incredibly selfish habit...unless of course you live by yourself and never have any visitors.

I do. It kinda loosens you up and calms you down. I've tried to stop on more than one occasion, but you have no idea how hard it is until you find out for yourself.

People usually stop smoking when they find out they have lung cancer but then its too late.

Why can't everyone be like I! I never smoked in my life and never plan too. I would rather not get lung cancer thank you.

I can't be like you because I'm not you. And about that finding out that you have lung cancer you stop smoking. Thats *beep*, my grandfather found out he had lung cancer, he figured he was going to die anyways, he kept smoking. My father had a heart attack, the doctor told him if he didn't stop smoking he'd die. He still smokes. Do NOT underestimate how addictive it is.

/\ both my grandparents died of lung cancer and my best friend's uncle is currently dying of that lovely disease (but I don't know if he smokes or not)

I have a really bad craving for a cigarette. I have never smoked except for passively and this craving is driving me insane.

Even recreational smoking gets you addicted.

I've debated on and off for about a year about going on nicotine, through gum or patches, mainly because I could do with loosing weight, and because then my cravings would be justified.

In all honesty you won't lose that much weight. I lost about 5lbs when I started, I haven't lost anything from the cigarettes since.

Quiting smoking is simple just stop smoking.

Because I know some people who have said they can't quit smoking, but now they have quit because they know it won't give them any good for their lives. Like my boss who have quit smoking after 15 years of doing so.

Of course some people think its impossible to quit smoking because they won't choose to stop even though they know its really bad for the health.

I would suggest to those people who smoke to stop now before you regret it.

What? Are you a smoker? How would you know how easy it is to quit? Thats like saying "its easy to die, just stop eating."

Both my parents smoked for 20 years, but quit a few years ago. Sure, it may seem easy, but how would I know, I'm not a smoker who has been addicted for 20 years.

Its a choice, people have nobody to blame but themselves.

Quiting smoking is easy. Just don't buy cigarette and walk away from it. All people need is some confidence to quit.

I say the government should raise the price of a cigarette by 15 dollars to deter people from buying cigarette.

I don't smoke, but I do understand that it is very difficult to quit. And I respect anyone who has the stanima to quit. I also wish that the government made it a little harder for people to start smoking.

Wow, thats the most ludacris thing I've ever heard. I've tried to quit smoking 3 or 4 times. Its ruining my voice, and thats one of the things I've always counted on to get me into college, and its flying out the window, and I still can't stop.

See, what I think is just swell is people like our borgslayer who act like smokers have no clue what the repercussions of smoking are. See dude... no one is really that stupid. But that's not why people smoke.

I'm only a recreational smoker myself. I had a few in Vegas, but "when in Rome". I also have one or two when I'm really stressed or really super angry to calm me down. It doesn't happen too often, but I know that one cigarette will calm my nerves. It's like having a cold beer or a shot of whiskey when you're stressed. Not a huge difference.

I could stop any time I wanted, but the fact is that I don't want to. I think that's the case with a lot of heavy smokers. So get off their cases and go worry about your own life.

Every 15 years (or something) the government raises the price of ciggarettes by like 5 cents, and it costs them a few million to do so. It isn't worth it.

I don't smoke. It takes too much effort. You have to light it and then like puff it and all. I'm too lazy....

I hate it how anti-smoking ads make it look like its the cigarette companies fault for people smoking. Its not as if they forced you start smoking, and wouldn't let you quit.

And that whole thing where they're trying to ban smoking in movies. If you're stupid enough to want to smoke because you saw it in a movie... then you're probably so stupid you don't deserve to live. Did that sound harsh?

We got a huge increase on cigarette tax last year (even though *cough* most people voted no). But I guess it's ok... I don't buy that many... and I won't have to buy them here for much longer.

I don't smoke and won't ever. Alot of the people we train at work smoke though. Only thing I don't like is their breath always smells bad when they talk to you. Gets really annoying.

smoking is disgusting! I can't stand the smell at all. Have never smoked a cigarette -- not even a small puff out of curiosity. No thanks! Also, it sucks to kiss a person who smokes b/c you can taste it and it's just naaaasty!
