I'm not sure what I would be, maybe conservative. But remember that there is a difference between American and British difinitions, so I wouldn't be so right wing as a lot of American conservatives.

^ that would probably classify you as a moderate liberal, then. Don't think I've ever met a conservative Brit...

On some of the stuff I support them, but other stuff I think I might be more right wing. While saying that I also support a bit of left wing stuff as well, so not sure what party I would support.

Some places, such as France are becoming too liberal and secular though. They are making laws that force you to become liberal and so on, but then they are now banning religious icons etc. So much for doing what they are supposed to - be all accepting.

I'd consider myself Moderately Liberal, However I do involve myself in Socialist Causes. I am not completely Liberal because of my stance on Religion and on Gay Marriages.

I COMPLETELY agree with everything you said there. That is a perfect example for what secularism can do to a society.

By my count (of the poll) Conservatives outnumber us. Therefore there are few.
About the France thing. There is alot going on in France right now. The fastest growing religious population in France is Islam. For obvious reasons, this is frigtening the people who are not muslim. A vast majority of the muslim population are fanatics, and that is beginning to show in the country. Crime in general is sky rocketing, and crimes against women (commited by islamists who believe that abusing them is okay) has gone up drastically. The government of France is not Muslim, and they are trying to limit the spread of the religion into the Central government. They are fighting a losing battle, by all accounts. People are starting to be persecuted in France for not being Muslim. That is how vast a majority there is. Hate crimes against Jews are especially prominent. You see the issue they are facing? I could go on, if you'd like...

I am just independent,....I make up my mind on stuff and just choose the side I think it right. Some of my beleifs are liberal (gay marriage, capital punishment...) and some are conservative (abortion, and other stuff). Thats pretty much is just it...I just choose the side that I think is right on each issue.

I respect that. Thank you for answering my question.
So, am I correct in assuming that you do not endorse capital punishment?

Well on this, I will say that it is really religion that makes me absolutly sure that I am against it. Every human's life is valuable no matter how lowly they are. And there is always a chance that a person can change. Life in prison is cheaper for the tax-payer, and I just do not think that it is necessary since life in prision will keep everyone safe, and therefore, makes capital punishment not necessary to ensure safety. If you can avoid taking a human's life, I think it should be avoided.

I think I agree with you...I am going to have to do more research... I prefer to do that before I have a solid position on something... Thank you for sharing.

No, most Muslims are NOT necessarily fanatics, and it's NOT "beginning to show in the country." The Muslims are upset because their religious rights have been taken away from the government--they can't show themselves, like in schools, as their religion dictates.
Crime in general is sky rocketing, and crimes against women (commited by islamists who believe that abusing them is okay) has gone up drastically. The government of France is not Muslim, and they are trying to limit the spread of the religion into the Central government.
You are right that the government is not Muslim because it's SECULAR. It HAS no religion AT ALL.
They are fighting a losing battle, by all accounts. People are starting to be persecuted in France for not being Muslim. That is how vast a majority there is. Hate crimes against Jews are especially prominent. You see the issue they are facing? I could go on, if you'd like... |
I have yet to see that. But still, France is SECULAR. It's SECULAR, not just not Muslim, and it's destructive.

There ARE NO general beliefs--just a mixture of different beliefs.
