Katharyn headed after Xivix only to catch him as he was about to enter the Holodeck. "Arc....when you have a moment? I'd like to see you in my quarters, there's something we need to discuss...." She gave a slight nod, as though he would understand its meaning, and then left him there....
She reached her quarters and picked up a padd from the table, reading it several times. It was a letter from her brother, Alex...her mind began to drift apart from the ship as she remnisced about him. The two of them had always been close, and the letter was one of tremendously joyous news. Alex was to be married! She smiled to herself, thinking about the woman he had chosen for his bride. Her name was Raelis Truex, and she was quite an extraordinary person, intelligent and kind...warm and pleasant. Katharyn was indeed happy for the both of them.
As she reflected on her brother's marriage, she maintained a feeling of guilt for not being able to attend due to her tour on the Pathfinder. She also began to feel quite lonesome....

Arc walked down the corridor, having ignored his holodeck time, and freeing it up. He realised his phaser was set to kill.
"Oops" he flicked it down to stun, and put it back in his belt. He walked to DeSoto's quarters. He pressed the door chime, and waited.

Well it was a mix of things however I must admit the main thing was probably the fact that security and tactical are merging it is just not my thing.

Sir. I shall do my best to uphold the principals of the Federation and ensure all intelligence his handled in an appropriate manner.
He relaxed.

The Commander made her way to sit down across from Arc and eyed the nervous man with a deep sense of empathy. She spoke softly. "There's no need to be so anxious, Lieutenant.....you know why I'm here."

She knew he had the phaser, but that wasn't what was worrying her....."Arc, there's no reason for that," she said, pointing to the weapon that was concealed by his hand. "It's me, and I'm not here to harm you........." A long pause ensued after this remark while DeSoto fought to gather up enough courage to continue. "We've both been through a terrible ordeal, as I think you'll agree.....and I want you to understand just how I feel. We shared more than just a link, Arc.....it was a bond...the rarest, most intimate kind....you can't tell me that you're just going to ignore it because your body won't let you--your mind won't let you....we have to face this."
