Anyone watching this season? I've never actually watched the show before, other than the odd episode, but this one looks interesting. Don't know why, tbh.

I've never enjoyed any of the Survivor seasons...if it happens to be on, I quickly find something else to do with my time. I think it's the deceptive, back-stabbing nature of the contestants that I find most nauseating, as with many of today's "reality" tv shows.

What's so damn realistic about people playing a game-show on/in a deserted island/remote location anyway?

^ That's always the kind of comment that can be made about any reality show. I understand Big Brother isn't as big in the U.S. as it is here (well, that's kind of debatable these days), but seriously, how is being locked in a house with a bunch of strangers reality? It's not. I did a study on French reality TV last year and gave a presentation on it for an exam... and it was really quite interesting to look into all that.

But sticking to the show we're talking about here... I think they tried to do Survivor in the UK when it was initially succesful in the U.S., but it didn't take off. They don't show the American version here either, as far as I know.

I've always liked the show. I don't watch any other reality shows but this one is good.

There's only two reality shows that i actually watch this (which i've watched since the first season) and American Idol (which i've watched since the first season), i got a hunch this is going to be an awesome season.

I like watching it to see how vicious the people get over money.

Yea, I liked what Joel did. I guess I just like it when people don't see it coming.

Hey im in the Micronesia islands right now, and i'll tell you what some of these islands are soo small, like i was in a plane comming from hawaii to Choke(Island in the micro area) and when we landed at the air port which looked like a bus stop, and our plane was refuled by a beat up ford ranger with a crazy set up of JP-5 fuel. Im telling you i couldnt leave there. The island im at(guam) is the biggest one of them next to saipan.

Yea, did you see the exile island? It's like a tiny speck surrounded by other tiny specs. It is beautiful though.

beautiful indeed...

and speaking of exile island, it seems that thanx to Ozzy (I think) finding the idol and making a fake one, things r about to heat up...plus with what could be a big tribal shake-up.

I'm not a fan of Joel. So Chet is weak. Support him. "Only as strong as the weakest link" isn't just a metaphor. They should, IMO, try to keep their tribe intact, get the other one gone, and then worry about themselves. Bunch of big egos at play.

[EDIT]

YAY! Also, everyone is so underestimating Suri, (sp)

I liked Joel. I really don't think Chet deserves to be there, he puts in very little effort at camp. If Chet were to go to the end he would have no chance. That's not what I want to see. I want someone who worked hard to get there, not just someone who was brought along for an easy win.

Are we watching the same show? Chet does everything he can. He's taking care of the 'livestock', gathers firewood, etc... He just can't lift a tree like James or Joel. And Joel was nasty as hell when he and Chet were tied together. Chet - I hit my head; Joel - Yeah; Chet - It really hurts; Joel - I don't care. They came to the right conclusion, IMO, that Joel was not a team player, nor a smart choice to keep around. I don't see Chet winning, but I don't think he deserves to be booted because he's small. He sucks at challenges, that's it.

They got rid of Joel because like they said, Chet is a pawn that they can get to do whatever they want later. It was mean what Joel said to him. I did feel bad for Chet during that reward competition. He did say that he's not in the game physically.

I don't see how Chet could be in the game physically, TBH. I think he's just one of those people they let on for the drama.
Joel would have gotten a lot further had he not been so... ignorant. I don't remember who it was, a woman who was voting, said she was voting for him simply because he called her 'weak' one too many times.

Thats true. I think the number one rule in this game is that you need to watch what you say. If I was on it I would be everyones friend. You really shouldn't say anything that is going to insult someone. If Joel had watched his words he would have gone a lot further.

Just curious T...

...dont u think u should edit this topic's title to read "Survivor : Micronesia" and then insert the tribe names if u feel like it? I mean, after all...it isnt really fans vs. favorites anymore, well it is in a way, but...ok...now i lost my purpose. Anywho...

...who will be voted out this week??? and what about Jonathan (that is his name, right...I'm bad at this)? Will his injury send him home?

No, don't really see a reason to change the title,

I hope Jonathan has enough sense to go. His life isn't worth money.
