Ok, forgive me if this topic was covered already (and I didn't dig much into the archives), but what Star Trek Technology would you want to have?

I for one would like several:
A medical tricorder - it would make my job SOOO much easier
A replicator - for those times when I just don't feel like cooking
A holodeck - That could be so much fun!

Thank you, but, we mods are quite capable of our job And there isn't a current topic of this sort in the Tech section

However, he's right that this does belong in the Tech section.

Just for future reference though, if there hasn't been a topic made in the last year or there isn't a topic in the first thre pages or so of a forum, you don't need to worry about duplicates. And there's a search bar at the top of the screen if you don't want to dig manually

As for the actually subject, I think it would be really neat to have a hypospray as I'm not exactly a fan of needles. And a transporter would be really nice - the two hour drive to and from college is getting old real fast!

I did use the search bar...but didn't dig much farther than the first few results as I tend to have the attention span of a puppy sometimes. roflmbo!

Needles aren't so bad...but then again, it doesn't hurt me one bit when I stick an IV in someone.

Yeah...digging through topics looking for just one isn't exactly entertaining...hence the thing about not needing to look past the first few pages.

Needles aren't the bane of my existance, but after having blood drawn I'm a little squimish about them. And my sister is terrified of them (she's had two surgeries and plenty of IVs and blood tests), so of all most obvious Trek technologies that I can think of, that one is the most plausable and may very well be one of the most useful for the layperson.

How 'boot the communicator? Instant talk with no connection fees, lol. The hypospray isn't a bad idea though.

Hmmmn... A Tricorder might be fun. A Transporter would be cool to, because then vacations could happen more often (With air fare, gas etc... it takes a bit of saving just to get therer!). Definitly a replicator, at least one that can do drinks!

Definitely a reverse-ratcheting routing planer.

...

No, not really. I don't even know what that does. I'd actually want a holodeck. Why? 'Cause. It's a holodeck. Need I say more?

Let's just make it easier, an entire space station, then you can build what you want/need

Space Station? Yea, that would work...I think I'd rather have Voyager though.

Com badges and a holodeck. A starship like the Prometheus and I'd be in Heaven.

The holodeck is all I need. I could do anything I wanted. I would never leave. I'd just live in there in my own fantasy world. Where the Sabres win the Stanley cup every year and every girl wants me. lol.

A Computer from the 24th Century would be nice.

Hah, I can't believe I never noticed this topic. Really good one too.

I'd probably want a replicator, if the question is what 24th tech. do you want today?

As...greedy as this sounds, I'd simply replicate money and just not work.

Sounds interesting but you'd have to know what serial numbers were in service. If you start printing bills with the same serial numbers or numbers that aren't in service it could draw suspicion. Unless of course you're going to replicate a pile of coins and take them in to exchange for paper money. Might be able to pull that one off.

BTW? Wouldn't replicating money be considered counterfitting?

One little problem with that, lord borg.
As stated on VOYAGER, replicators can't replicate power for replicators.
Therefore, you need an EXTERNAL power source.
Here on earth, that costs money.

Yeah, but then they turned right around and used the holodecks 24/7, so I don't place to much faith in what they said in VOY,

They also stated on Voy that the HOLODECKS run off a different power source which couldn't be used for the replicators, hence why it was usable 24/7.

In theory, you could replicate stuff to sell on ebay or wherever and make your money that way. That's slightly more legit than replicating the money itself. lol
