Tell us the specs of your computers and perhaps any little things you have done to personalise/ungrade it

I have a custom built PC but its quite old and out of date now

Operating System: XP Professional 5.1 (no service pack 2 update)
System Manufacturer: Jetway
Processor: AMD Duron Processor ~1.2GHz
Memory: 768MB RAM (standard was 256mb ram)
Hard Drive(s): Standard 40GB & 160GB Slave Drive
Monitor: 15" LCD Flatscreen

Also mine has just a 1.2GHz AMD Duron Processor. I'm looking to get a new one but im not sure when to look for in compatibility terms. Perferably id like to update to a 2.6 or 2.9GHz Processor but im not sure if they would be able to work on my motherboard. Could someone provide me with some insight into this?

My system is actually getting upgraded tomorrow or the next day, I have new parts on the way!

I use a MacBook Pro:

RAM: 2GB
HD: 100GB
Screen: 15.4"
Processor: Intel Duo with 2.33 GHz
Drives: One DVD/CD RW

However, I'm trying to build a computer at home. So far that has:

RAM: None yet...Aiming for about a gig.
HD: 200GB
Screen: Borrowing my sisters old monster of a screen until we can find a cheap one.
Processor: AMD Athalon 64 bit, I forget how many GHz
Drives: DVD/CD RW
Graphics/Sound: Built in for now. My family is not going to be putting a lot of pressure on them.

... all packaged into a IBM Thinkpad T23. It does everything except play Second Life. And keeos running out of space for my programs on Linux, because of the pesky Windows 2000. I want to upgrade the hard drive.

I don't really know a lot about my computer....it used to be my brother's computer, but he got a new one, and I got this one for my 13th birthday (I'm 17)....and this computer is really old....9 years, I remember buying it with my Dad when I was 8...well, it's a Windows 98 with 6 GB harddrive
well, that's everything I know...

oh, and something special about it: the keyboard is with kyrillic letters instead of latin ones...my brother got it from Russia, and I use it coz I know where the latin letters are anyway, but it makes things a lot easier when I write in Russian

I finally got around to upgrading my computer! The new specs are:

Processor: AMD 64 3500+ (socket 939)

The main part of my upgrade consisted of having to go to socket 939 and PCI-Express (the newer technologies), so that next time I upgrade, I can get better and newer stuff and not be restricted by old technologies. I am quite pleased with myself. I also got a 1GB stick of RAM, rather than 512MBx2, so I will have the ability to get more RAM into my system. Yay!
