Did the Constitution-class [refit] have aft torpedoes? I mean, if the Marinda-class had them, how could they not be on the Federation flagship? In the schematics of the refit, Constitution-class vessels had AFT PHASERS, which were located right above the main shuttlebay, but there was no torpedo tube. I mean, I know the Marinda-class came out a while after the Constitution-class refit, but you would think it would not be more advanced than the flagship. Although, it is a blind spot. I always laugh when I see Khan order the aft torpedoes and they totally miss!

I dont think it had aft torpedoes.

But the phaser firing arc probably curved a little to the side.

I think the Constitution-class (refit) only has two forward torpedo launchers, and no aft torpedos.

Worf Rozhenko. That was his adoptive last name, anyway. I guess the Klingon one would just be Son of Mogh.

the refit doesn't have any aft torpedoes, that is a big flaw. Also, it wasn't the flag ship. The Excelsior was.

Actually, the Enterprise refit, and the Enterprise-A after it, were flagships of the first, second and third fleets, under the flag of Admiral Robert "Bob" Bennett, seen in Star Trek V. You will recall that the Enterprise was the first vessel to be refitted, and only 9 of the original 12 Constitution-class ships were refitted. The rest were decommissioned. The USS Excelsior was the flagship of the SFAS division (Starfleet Assault Forces), which consisted of the 5th and 14th fleets. When the original Enterprise was active, it was flagship of all Starfleet, and was the pride of the Federaation. During the time of Star Trek 2, the Excelsior was still in it's experimental stage, and it's registry was still NX-2000 instead of NCC-2000, so it was the only Excelsior-class starship in the fleet. There were no others in production at the time. And coming back to topic of aft torpedo bays, the Enterprise refit did have them, but some other Constitution refits did NOT, because the Enterprise was custom-refitted under the supervision of Admiral Kirk, and under the command of Captain Willard Decker.

The Constitution Refit had 4 2nd Class Torpedo Tubes (2nd Class: Tube capable of firing 1 torpedo every 4 seconds). If you look at the front of the vessel, you can plainly see 2 forward facing torpedo tubes, in between the primary and secondary hulls. But you can only see two torpedo tubes from the front. Logic dictates that the other two would be facing aft. Most likely below the shuttlebay, not above. So far, no ship has torpedo tubes facing port and starboard (with exception to the Akira, which is designed not to have a weak spot). An absolutely NO ship has torpedo tubes facing up and/or down (dorsal/ventral) because it is illogical. Gaurav_st, all of the refitted Constitutions had 4 torpedo tubes, and the were in the same configuration as that of the Enterprise-A. Just a little fact: the refit programme lasted from 2269 to 2272
