I just got back from this movie.
Generally, I liked it. Pretty cool action film and storyline. A new touch on the cloning issue, I suppose. I really liked the casting. Love Scarlett Johansson, Ewan McGregor is my favorite actor, and Ethan Philliips had a pretty big role in it. So that was pretty cool.

I saw it with my friends yesterday. It was a pretty cool movie, and I loved that Ethan Philips was in it. That is definatly a movie worth seeing again. Ewan McGregor was pretty cool in it too... and I'll admit that I was paying more attention when there was two of him on screen...

. Yeah, the girl I went with was the same way. She's a Ewan girl and the whole time Tom and Lincoln were on together, she had this huge silly grin on her face. It was priceless.

I'll probably see the movie when it comes to DVD. I will say this. Here in England, the movie hasn't been hyped as much as it should have. I know most tabloids and magazines have devoted space to movies like Fantastic Four, War of the Worlds and Batman Begins, but The Island hasn't got the space it deserved, which I think is a shame.

I hated Batman Begins. I was like "I actually paid to go see this?" and then I went back and made Chris give me my money back. lol

I thought batman begins was ok. It was too long at first. All that B/S with him being trained! I wanted to see him in his batman suit and get it ova with!

Finally got around to seeing this. I thought it was okay, but.... It took place sometime after 2050, but all the cars were this year's models. You'd think they'd change them around a little bit at least, but whatever, it was still good. I didn't get that part where the woman had the baby, and they gave it away to the parents. Was the mother a clone of the other mother? I didn't notice if so.

It took place 2019 actually.
The mother was a clone of the women who got the baby.
I saw the movie a few days back. It was fantastic. Great acting by Ewan as usual.

Oh, I didn't notice.
I thought he mentioned the "eugenics laws of 2050" I guess it was actually 2015, No excuse for the cars, though. Dodge? Come on.

Phew, I wasn't the only one. We'll blame the acting.

Did anybody else notice all the brands? I thought that was kinda neat. XBOX, Amtrack, MSN Search, etc. As if amtrack will still be in business then, anyway.... But yeah, def spiffy.

Out of all my teenage girl friends, I'm the only one that likes Ewan McGregor. He's hot, because in real life he's actually a really nice average guy. All my friends like bollywood actors I've never heard of.
I hadn't heard of this film, didn't even know it existed.

No, it's because so many of the English are complete uneducated scum who wouldn't appreciate good film if it danced infront of them naked apart from a sweatband around the thigh. So, there's very little advertisement for a lot of good movies, and they don't pull in enough money and don't run for long enough. In my town, Spirited Away ran for 1 week and wasn't advertised anywhere, which is why I didn't get to see it at the cinema. If you want to find out about worthwhile, intellectual pieces of cinema, you have to watch a program called "Talking Movies", but I can't remember when it's on, so I rarely see it.
