OH MAN! LOOK WHAT I CAN DO!
Quote: | As a minister with the ULC, its own denomination, you are granted the following rights:
To perform marriages within any US state, following the rules laid out by the state in which
you wish to perform said marriage.
To perform funerals, baptisms, last rites or any other sort of legal ceremony or ritual you
wish to perform, except circumcision.
To start a church of your own, be it a bricks and mortar building or on the internet.
To absolve others of their sins as you have been absolved of yours. |

Not likely. But its just funny.
There is the possibility that if a friend of mine ever decides to get married, I could perform the service!

Hah! Like I believe that. And you, religious? You couldn't pass any test even if you tried. It's not that difficult to doctor such a thing, you know. Besides, you live in Oregon, not California.

Its an online thing. Its 100% legal, and theyre based in California. Believe it or not, but I dont have to be religious to perform a marriage ceremony.

Quote: | *** The church realizes that this new legal status as an ordained minister is difficult to realize. It is almost too good to be true - but it is. In St. John 15:16 it states that God chose you, not the other way around. Your ordination is of God from before the foundation of the earth - according to the Bible. You are not required to believe this, it is offered only as one source of your seeking ordination. It is the responsibility of the Church and the duty of the Monastery to assist you in your new ministry whatever it may be as long as it complies with the two tenets of the ULC: to promote freedom of religion and to do that which is right and within the law. |

I have no idea. Maybe their thing started in 1999. I got it today, so it shouldnt say 1999.
And I know what youre thinking. Im not that sloppy of a photo editor.

It's not real. It started in 1959 and says 1999. If it were real, it would say later. Now, Defiant, give us the site.

Well, I googled it and found it, but it's a load of crap. Sure, it's "real," but it's a crap thing. Anyone can do it--anyone--and that means anyone! I could even do it, and I'm under age 18!

Doesn't make it right. A law needs to illegalize this.

It IS a serious issue. And don't say congrats. Go to http://www.ulc.net/ or www.ulc.org. You'll see that it's so easy, not even worth congrats.

So what if it's easy? Don't really care. Don't care if it's legal or not. Mark took the time to do it, he has pride in it, so, CONGRATULATIONS.
