I would like to die awake. I do not like the thought of going to bed, and not knowing I would never wake up again. I want to be awake, and know that I am dying, so that I can savor the last moments of life, and hopefully, die with the people I love being the last one that I see. I don't just want to go in my sleep.

But if it was in your sleep you wouldn't have to feel any pain or fear *nods*
I still think I'd choose awake, though.

Definitely awake. Unless of course I'm suffering from some excruciatingly painful ailment, then, sedate me,

Here is another question...are people afraid of death itself...or is it they didn't get to accomplish everything they had hoped...or just that they won't be around?

I'd rather be awake, as I said in the other topic.
However, it doesn't really make a difference, as it won't be up to me,

I don't think dying at all would be fun lol. In any case, i'd like to die in my sleep, it just seems easier that way.

I think people are mostly just afraid of what comes after death. Because that's the unknown and fear of the unknown is pretty common. People are afraid of the pain they might feel depending on which way death meets them. Or even may be a little anxious about how things will carry on without them, like if they were a parent or something.

In my sleep. Tonight, if possible. It's not likely to happen, though *sighs*.

Aren't you curious though, how that feels like? I mean, it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

definitely in my sleep. I'm afraid of dying and when I sleep I (hopefully) won't realize what's happening.
As to the second question - being an atheist I don't think anything comes after death (unless you count the process of decaying). I love and enjoy life and can't imagine anything better. I don't want it to end, after all there are so many wonderful things to see, so many flowers to smell, so many birds to hear and so little time for it all. Therefore I'm afraid of death. It'd all be over then.

i would prefer to die awake. i want to leave people with wise words like "i *mumble* although *mumble mumble* forever man" lol.
for answering the second question...i'm a christian, i know what comes after i die, all my life i've been able to imagine what life changing actions will be like, but (there's always a but) i'm afraid about dying because i cant imagine what it's like. people have their ideas of what Heaven's going to be like, with clouds everywhere, that kind of thing, but i just am not able to picture it. i fear the unknown, like what triam_paris said. i agree. people are like me and they fear what happens after they die.

I don't want to die. But, if I have to I want to be asleep. But knowing my luck I'll probably be awake.
