Fri Aug 13, 2004 10:29 pm Hurricane Charley May be 2x Worse than Andrew |
|
Hurricane Charley may now have TWICE as many casualties, etc, as Hurricane Andrew. This is horrifying.

I don't know, but I just learned from watching FOX News that this Hurricane is the worse since 1960.
Oh, and it's Friday the 13th.

Huh, don't know about that. For it to be 2x as worse, it'd at least have to remain a hurricane up the east coast, and we haven't had a real hurricane here for years. 80something.

Well, it's one of the 3 worse tragedies somebody said along with 9/11 and Hurricane Andrew. (And it's 2x Andrew)

Was that a joke or were you serious about this statement?
On Topic: My grandparents live in Clearwater Beach where the hurricane hit directly. I know that they left and are safe but i cant imagine how much damage it is going to cause.

It was just a statement. Not a good one, though, but it just seems odd...

What happened with the other one that was in America a few days ago? We had the remains of it hitting over here where it caused landslides and major flooding.

After Andrew hit, Florida revamped the structural integrity in its buildings many times over.
I think Florida's going to be OK. We'll have to wait and see.

Wow, you're an ignorant New Yorker then, right?
Well, I'm glad that I don't have to experience a hurricane, I get to have awesome tornados instead. So how bout everyone here just come over to Tornado Alley and have a blast.

By the time the storm gets to you, that's what it is, a storm. For those in the south, it's a category five hurricane, winds over 100 mph. I doubt you'd be sitting there laughing with things flying through your windows.
The most common description after a hurricane is that it "looks like a bomb went off". You are comparing apples and oranges, and looking ridiculous while doing so.

Dude, that is just wrong. Lets send a hurricane through you living room, and we will see how openly uncaring you are then. These people down here are living through this, and some have lost everything. I am fom the south too, and I can not see how you could possibly say that a hurricane hitting a state is not a big deal. That is just showing how ignorant you can be. hurricanes are not just little thunderstorms. They are big time problems. Of course, I would not expect you to care. if one came your way, your parents would protect you while you cried from fright.
