Armada 2 is better. It has more ships and more species.

They spoilt Armada 2 by making it 3D I reckon...tried to follow Homeworld's example but in doing so was neither true 2D or true 3D...kinda fell in between the lines.

Though it was good to see more ships - I always thought the original Armada needed more ships...in the end though I just downloaded the Babylon 5 mod which converted the entire thing into Babylon 5 ships and stations

meh.... A1 was not bad, A2 wasn't that bad either, both had good graphics when you got the appropriate mods, but A2 has worse AI system ... idiotic i know ...

I hate Armada 1. It stinks. I like Armada 2. It`s very fun, especially for a strategic games lover like me.

And they move to slow (the embryos and the "mothers"), so I think it's boring to play them in the instant action!

^^^thats true, more ships in a fleet was nice. I think i liked armada 2 better because there were more ships, more single player missions, more species and warp drive

More ships doesnt always = better tho. I mean Theres plenty of armada one mods that add same/more ships as A2. The thing about A2 that I really hated is the texturing on ships. They were dark and ugly. Armada one looked better and had more of a star trek feeling to it. A2 just felt like a cheap imitation.
