PostSun Jun 05, 2005 12:36 pm    Crop Circles

Alright, I spent a few minutes watching the History Channel on crop circles, and ever since 1990 they have begun to be seen as more elaborate than simply circles. What do you think is the cause of this? Aliens, or something more rational?

On Richard and Judy (british daytime show) some people made a crop circle with the presenters' faces in and explained how they make crop circles. However, they also explained that some crop circles are far to intricate to be created in one night, no matter how much man power you have. They actually said that the ideal crop circle team is comprised of no more than 20 people, as "too many cooks spoil the broth".

So, some crop circles seem to be made not by man... Could they be made by underground activity like sink holes? Or are they from outer space?

To be honest, I don't really care. They sure are pretty though!

Sink holes cannot make crop circles because sink holes would put a big hole on the ground and take the grass with it.

Some crop circles are made by man using wood and with a piece of rope.

Some crop circles are made by nature as a theory by some scientist.

Some crop circles are made from beings from outer space as theory of some scientist and by my beliefs.

All of you non-believers who think all crop circles are all made by man should re-examin the pheomenon. Its impossible to make a crop circle that is the size of a football field, that is accurately aligned from one end to the other.

Something like this is not man made. I don't think a person would make a crop circle like this. Its a total waste of time.

I think its a waste of time for aliens too.

Why on earth as an alien coming from another planet would you create that instead of making contact or something? Too plan an invasion?

That thing is nice though, isn't it called a spyrograph?

I can't remember all the specifics, but the show also talked about weird things happening to humans in these areas, even I think they said erections for men. Odd...

That was a joke by the way.

Supposedly people are abducted too, don't know what they have to gain by that, the aliens. I do know what human can gain by it.

Maybe it's the alien's... "tag"
The teenage aliens got bored and started... ehm... making circles... in crops.

...ooooooor.... it's made by the wind. Like a... baby tornado or something.
*shrug* I don't know!

Its definitly not impossible. You think humans are that stupid? Of course we can makes perfetcly alligned and symmetric circles in crops. we can build piramids, large statues without cranes, enormous walls you can see from out space. I don't think a crop circle, even the ones shown are that hard too make.

Besides, a lot of people have already admitted they made the figures in the crops. The circles are vey easy and very fast too make. a kid could do it. with a tape measurer and a piece of paper you can make all those figures in matter of hours. with a team of course.

Scientific evidence has shown that the more elaborate circles are manmade, while the simple circles often have unexplainable radiation, or have abnormality in teh crop.

Yeah.. wouldn't you do something like that if you were an alien? I would. Because you'd have these patterned crop circle buttons in your spaceship and you be talking to your alien friend and you'd be all "Yig turg nyett forg" (Translation: "dude, check this out") And then you'd hit your button and it would just stamp a crop circle on. And then you'd watch all the silly humans go crazy over it. It's be fun. And I think aliens like to have fun just like the rest of us.

I've read some material on it, and I'm pretty sure it's not a human thing. For instance: A man flew over a field with his little airplane, nothing out of the ordinary. He flew back over that field half an hour later; boom. all cirkels. Yeah I know, he could be lying and stuff, but I still think it's weird. How come these things appear out of thin air? Is there a secret organisation that makes these things? Hey, I know it, maybe Area 51 has something to do with it!!!

It's not a waste of time, it's geometric art. It's what lonely mathmaticians do in their spare time.

I can imagine aliens would ask themselves "Why on earth did they do that?" about humans, too.

Aren't they supposed to be caused by the booster rockets of their spaceships? Why would their space ships have such intricate layouts for the booster rockets? Maybe it's an alien status symbol to have made a crop circle. Maybe it's a "for sale" sign in another language. Maybe it's God. Who knows?

The simplest crop circles, where the crops are all bent in the same direction (clockwise or counter-clockwise) are produced by an atmospheric disturbance called a "micro-burst". I have with my own eyes seen these created in heavy thunderstorms (just shy of tornado weather). The more complex ones are made by human pranksters. Period.

IF there are aliens visiting us, they CERTAINLY have better things to do with their time and energy.

/\ How do you know that? They could mean something really important to the ETs! They could be a prayer or something.
Or they could be the equivelant of kindergarden paintings for aliens. We don't know

Alright then go to a UK Farmland make a football size crop circle that is full of patterns not just a circle in the middle of the night, and lets see how it looks when your finished.

They don't do it on the spur of the moment, you know. The crop circlers that were on TV said it took weeks of planning and a lot of mathmatical calculations to work it all out. They also asked the permission of the farmer to do it.
The tools they use? A plank with a piece of rope attached. You step on the plank and lift it up again with the rope. Repeat. Over and over again. It you're going really professional, you also have a helicopter beaming you a picture of what it looks like.
The people on TV managed to make one that was an accurate portrait of two people and was very large in just one night.

^^ Are you sure that wasn't a fingerpainting done by a kindergarten alien whose parents let it fly an insterstellar spaceship?

Taz is right. Aliens like painting. Let's all stop being so scientific and skeptic. Nobody likes boring skeptics.
